Our owner and founder, Eric Butterworth, is more than a dealer – he’s a United States Marine Corps Veteran, lifelong Idahoan, and dedicated farmer who knows firsthand the challenges and rewards of agriculture.
The butterworth story
Born and raised in Idaho, Eric grew up immersed in farming and irrigation, often tagging along with his grandfather and father.
Following the tragic events of September 11, he answered the call to serve his country as a United States Marine, deploying to Afghanistan. His military service shaped his work ethic, leadership, and commitment to integrity – values that continue to guide every aspect of the business today.

With over 40 years of experience in agriculture, Joe Butterworth brings unmatched knowledge and dedication to the Butterworth Irrigation team. Before joining the family business, Joe spent his career at GJ Vertiline Pump Company, specializing in pump installation, service, and repair. Now, he applies his expertise to support local farmers—whether it’s maintaining pumps, assisting with sprinkler installations, or ensuring systems run efficiently. Known for his reliability and genuine relationships, Joe continues to be a trusted partner to growers throughout the region.
Eli Butterworth
Jr. Employee 
Eli Butterworth proudly joins his dad and grandpa in the family business, bringing youthful energy and a growing passion for agriculture. Weather and job-type permitting, you’ll often find Eli tagging along on installations, helping out where he can, and learning the ropes from two generations of experience. He enjoys everything about farm life — from irrigation and field work to riding along in trucks and seeing projects come together. Eli represents the future of Butterworth Irrigation, and it’s been a joy to watch him learn, grow, and share in the family’s love for farming.
